Spatio-Temporal Classification and Prediction of Land Use and Land Cover Change in Finima Nature Park Bonny Island, Nigeria

Land Use Cover (LULC) is naturally dynamic, thus change inevitable. However, its changes have greatly increased to a frightening proportion as result of high rate anthropogenic and natural processes. Consequently, land use cover classes Finima Nature Park were classified observed within the last 33 years (1987 - 2021) predicted for next (2021 – 2054).
 Remote sensing Geographic Information System (GIS) used achieve goal. Coordinate points collected from various reference data accuracy assessment classification. Landsat imageries 1987, 1999, 2010 2021 acquired The United States Geological Survey (USGS). pre-processed, processed into LULC using Maximum Likelihood Classification in Idrisi ArcGis10.5. Confusion matrix Cellular Automata (CA) Markov Chain algorithm prediction respectively.
 Results showed that dense vegetation, sparse bare land, water body main class 1987 while built up 2010, 2054. Kappa Coefficient values 93%, 81%, 83% 90% respectively; an indication strong Generally, there study periods. mostly areas lands closer sea coast. Hence, was implicated major driver park. slight decrease vegetation 1999 2021, 2054 underscores importance benefit conservation.
